Our client are looking for a talented Deputy Head of SEO to join their team, with key responsibilities that include conducting keyword research, optimising headlines and article content for SEO, monitoring website analytics, and developing and implementing an effective SEO strategy to improve search rankings and drive traffic to their website. The role will also deputise and manage the desk when the leader isn't around. Key Responsibilities Collaborating with the Global Head of SEO and other stakeholders to develop and implement an effective SEO strategy for our online news content Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for improvement Oversee a team of SEO editors, providing guidance and support as needed Monitor website analytics to track traffic, engagement, and other key performance metrics – analysing and reporting on successes and failures to stakeholders Use SEO tools to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and digital marketing – alongside the ability to spot trends, identify traffic-driving opportunities and communicate those to the newsroom Collaborate with other teams, including editorial and product, to ensure SEO is integrated into all aspects of our online presence Manage rotas and carry out SEO training The Ideal Candidate Significant newsroom experience Confident with a range of SEO tools (eg SEMRush, Google Trends, News Dashboard) Sound understanding of Google Discover, Google News, organic search and Top Stories - and how to grow traffic across these referrers An enthusiastic evangelist for SEO in the newsroom Competence in technical SEO would be an asset Flexibility regarding shift patterns (some evening and weekends will be required) Salary £50-60k plus benefits How to Apply?
